Cleaning Philosophy

Our philosophy on cleaning is that a clean space is free space in which you can live your life. A clean space is also a safer place for our families to be with each other, giving them the freedom to live in a home free of dirt, harmful bacteria and even clutter that not only presents physical barriers and obstacles but often mental and emotional barriers as well. Our aim is to use the power of cleaning to unleash the full potential of our clients homes for the people who live there.

Our founder started this company with a background in interior and furniture design. In his years of practice, he learned that many people wanted to reset their homes and even their lives through a renovation but much of their goals could be achieved through a deep cleaning. Knowing that cleanliness is essential to the successful implementation of any design, he often recommended a professional home cleaning service as the first step in resetting or rethinking his client’s space. Many of his clients were amazed at how much deep cleaning alone transformed not only their spaces but how they felt in their spaces.

Sunday Clean was created to address the issues of self-care, design and sustainability through preservation.

What are eco-safe products?

There are as many definitions of eco-safe products as there are products that call themselves eco-safe. At Sunday Clean, we define eco-safe as products that carry the Safer Choice label by the EPA and that are used in the most sustainable way. Let’s break this down further.

What is the “Safer Choice”label by the EPA?

The United States Environmental Protection has created a list of over 2000 chemical consumer products that have undergone stringent testing of their chemical composition to ensure that they are a safer choice for people, pets, sea life and the environment.

When making a product, it's important to understand what each chemical does. Surfactants help with cleaning by decreasing surface tension, solvents dissolve or suspend materials, and chelating agents reduce water hardness. The Safer Choice program focuses on using the safest ingredients within these categories to protect the environment and human health. This means that developers can create high performing products without using harmful ingredients.

What does it mean to a product in the most sustainable way?

Products have to be produced, packaged, and shipped and no matter how eco-friendly companies try to be, that process has a carbon footprint and a significant impact on the environment. As users of these products, we feel our best contribution in protecting our environment is to understand the products we use in a way that will prevent waste from overuse and applications that can have harmful effects on our homes, our water and our air. Sunday Clean’s professional cleaners not only know how to clean but how our products work to clean.

Why do we use the products we use?

We choose our cleaning products based on their performance and environmental impact. All of our chemical products are classified by the EPA as Safer Choice.
